Psychological & SEMH Services
We provide Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) interventions that are evidence-based and focused on helping children and young people work towards positive change.
Many people who experience mental health difficulties need access to appropriate professional help. We offer effective specialist services that can support those who are having difficulties in psychological areas to move forwards.
Our friendly team can help to address issues and concerns regarding cognition and learning, communication and interaction, physical or sensory development and social, emotional or mental health needs. We also offer a range of Family Therapy services.
Please find the full range of services outlined below.
Educational Psychology

The Educational Psychology Service (EPS) works with children and young people, parents and carers, families and educational settings to address issues and concerns regarding cognition and learning, communication and interaction, physical or sensory development and social, emotional or mental health needs.
Our highly qualified and experienced Educational Psychologists can work at the level of the individual child or young person, or at a wider organisational level.
The team also offers consultancy support to educational settings in their work with SEMH provision in relation to the whole school.
Full details of our EPS service are outlined in the brochure available below. Please note that Educational Psychology services provided in-clinic are delivered at our TCT Ashley Cross site.
Clinical Psychology

NB: Due to overwhelming demand we have closed the clinical psychology therapy until further notice.
Our Paediatric Clinical Psychology service supports children and young people facing psychological, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
Led by Dr. Tanya Godwin, Dr. Kate Martin and Dr. Lucy Francis, the service helps children, young people, and their families by identifying goals and developing tailored action plans to improve overall well-being.
With extensive experience across private, voluntary, and NHS settings, our team provides expert psychological assessments and therapy for a wide range of psychological and cognitive difficulties.
For full details of their qualifications, clinical experience, and the services offered, please refer to the brochure below. You can also find further information in this blog, which provides an overview of the service.
Please note: In-clinic Clinical Psychology services are available at our TCT Ashley Cross location
Selective Mutism Support

For anyone experiencing selective mutism (also known as situational mutism), speaking can be terrifying—it is a phobia of talking. They are not being ‘shy’ or ‘rude’; they simply cannot speak.
People with selective mutism may speak fluently in some situations but remain consistently silent in others. The very thought of speaking can trigger both physical and psychological symptoms that are difficult to overcome. The greater the pressure and expectation to talk, the more challenging it becomes.
Selective mutism is not an act of stubbornness, a means of control, or a refusal to speak. It is described as situational because a person’s ability to communicate varies depending on the social environment and the people around them (e.g. at school, with peers and/or with teachers), despite being able to speak in other settings.
Our support is provided by two therapeutic teams: Speech and Language Therapy and Psychology. As every young person we support is unique, we offer flexible services tailored to their individual needs.
Full details of the Selective Mutism Support service can be found in the brochure below.
