In These Challenging Times

In these difficult times of change and uncertainty, we are hearing more and more from parents and caregivers who are struggling to cope with juggling the demands of their families with increasingly busy lives.

The families we see come in all different forms. Some are small and others are large, some are blended, and others are extended. We get parents, step-parents grandparents, aunties and uncles and sometimes even adult siblings that call us.

We often hear about children and young people who for whatever reason are finding life a bit tough, and are presenting in various ways for example:

  • Behaving differently in different settings- either more than one home, or at home and at school.

  • Struggling to cope with a poorly parent/relative or a difficult situation at home.

  • Finding it hard to access learning and maybe even getting into trouble at school

  • Struggling with sleep.

Often families will tell us that they struggle to get hold of anyone who will listen to their concerns and help/guide them. We are often told of feelings of frustration or isolation or not knowing where to turn. At times caregivers share that they are finding life very difficult and just don’t know what to do next.

With this in mind, we are delighted to be able to offer a kind, listening ear within a robust service for parents and caregivers. We cannot offer quick fixes and magic wands, but we can offer experience and support, and time to treat each family as individuals.

We can listen to your concerns and any challenges you may be facing. We will then work together to form a plan that can gently support and guide you as a family as you move forwards.

The service is offered by Debbi Dover, TCT's Family Support Practitioner. Please find full details of Debbi's training and experience and the new service using the link below.
